The crown jewel for Wadleigh and his team this year is a Darth Vader die-cast car, the first official collaboration from Hot Wheels and the “Star Wars” franchise. The car imagine if a Chevrolet Corvette C5 and the villainous Sith lord’s helmet had a baby comes in a sleek black box and encased in a replica of Vader’s lightsaber, complete with a swooshing sound effect. “We’ve been trying to partner with Lucasfilm and Disney on this property for a long time,” said Wadleigh. “It took us time to get them to understand how Hot Wheels and ‘Star Wars’ could be married together to create a unique opportunity within the vehicle space. It blows me away to finally see it come to life in such a beautiful form. New Merchandise On The Horizon For Fall 2014 At Disney Parks

One of my favorite articles to write for the Disney Parks Blog gives readers a glimpse into future merchandise development (who wouldn’t want to travel through time?). Introduced in early 2012 , these semi-regular stories are filled with things that make me beyond happy. Here is a look at some of my favorites coming to Disney Parks later this year.
I still remember the day that Aaron Babcock, merchandiser for home and decorative goods, showed me the two metal trays pictured above. I did a double take as I thought they were vintage finds from some antique shop. Aaron is the developer behind those amazing items found in Disney universal studios packages Centerpiece at the Marketplace Co-Op in Downtown Disney Marketplace in Florida. He stepped up his game with these trays that will be placed next to my vintage EPCOT Center trays from the early 1980s. Look for them this fall at the respective Resort destinations in California and Florida .
I think I found the next two shirts that I will be getting for my fiancée and me. They were inspired by the popular “I’ll Be Your” Mickey and Minnie companion T-shirts released in 2012 . The shirts are coming this October to Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
I fell out of my chair when I saw the new Vinylmation – Eachz set coming this fall featuring Mabel from the hit Disney XD show “Gravity Falls.” I wasn’t surprised to learn that Thomas Scott was the Disney Design Group artist behind these limited edition figures. Thomas, who once dressed up as the character Grunkle Stan for Halloween, recommended I watch the show. I’m now hooked and can’t wait for season two, which debuts on Disney Channel on August 1 at 9:00 p.m. Presented in a mystery box (how fitting), the figure on the left will be more common to find (edition size 1,350), while the figure on the right is more rare (edition size 150).
Finally, I spotted these adorable new Disney Villains baby plush. Maleficent will be joined by baby Cruella de Vil this November, while Ursula will be released early next year.

Would it not make sense to actually take advantage of the massive success ofThe Avengersand perhaps pull back in regards to the now-standard early-bird saturation marketing campaign? I get that there is a certain need to hammer awareness when a film is a less-known entity, perhaps an original property or a sequel to an original that didnt quite set the world on fire the last time around. But is there anyone on Earth who is going to make a choice on whether or not to seeThe Avengers: Age of Ultronbased on a 9 months-early magazine spread? The only audiences that such early marketing disney packages gambits are playing to are those already determined to see the superhero sequel as early as possible anyway. As is usually the case, the earliest of early marketing is firmly targeted and mostly consumed by the converted. The studios spend millions of dollars and reveal heaven-knows-what about the film purely to make the sale to those who are already onboard. To wit, I would argue thatThe Avengers: Age of Ultronis a big enough hit that Disney could well afford to play a little subtle if they so choose.

The Hume-Mister family will stay for seven days and will have the opportunity to visit theme parks like Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney and Universal Studios. See Full Story Three cars carrying representatives from the Make-A-Wish Foundation pulled up to the Hume-Mister residence in West Norriton the evening of July 15. They were greeted by a very excited family and a very surprised boy named Joshua. Joshua Carlton Mister Jr. is 12 years old and has cerebral palsy. His wish is to take a trip to Disney World.

Congratulations to Sea Rescue for its Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Children’s Series! This is the show’s first Emmy nomination. Winners will be announced in June so stay tuned!

A Peek Inside ‘frozen Fireworks’ At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

hghghg834991One of my favorite new offerings that just launched as a part of Frozen Summer Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have to be the “ Frozen Fireworks ,” which light up the sky at 9:45 p.m., nightly.

What I enjoy about this fireworks show is that it combines elements of a stage show, complete with moments view publisher site of narration with Anna, Kristoff and Elsa, with fireworks and songs from the soundtrack to “ Frozen .”
Disney Parks Blog author Bob Hitchcock recently headed out to the park to take a look and find out what guests – and even some of the creators of the show – think of the new nighttime spectacular. Check it out below.
“Frozen Fireworks” will run nightly through September 1, as a part of the park’s Frozen Summer Fun celebration and viewing is available throughout the park.
